Furniture Tipover Traps Child Without Air Supply

On May 30,1995 a 16 month old boy was left alone in the bedroom of his home with his 4 year old sister while his mother went downstairs to retrieve the mail. When his mother returned 5 or 6 minutes later she discovered that a 3 foot tall wooden chest that was part of her bedroom set had fallen on top of him between the bed and chest. Cause of death was asphyxiation due to falling furniture.
