A 5 month old infant was found not breathing, in a face down position in a stroller. The infant's head appeared wedged/caught in one leg/foot hole on the stroller's seat. The sleeping infant had been placed, on her back, in the stroller by a babysitter reportedly positioned the infant with her head towards the back of the stroller and the infant apparently was able to turn around and roll over. Coroner ruled as "accidental suffocation."

Never leave a child unattended in a stroller especially when lying flat. Even a napping child can slide out. The youngest known victim was 7 weeks old.

In 1994, over 14,000 infants were sent to Hospital Emergency Rooms for stroller injuries.
